Schools Of Choice

Open enrollment for the 2023-2024 school year is now closed and we are no longer accepting applications. 

The next open enrollment period for enrollment into the 2024-2025 school year will be:

Kent ISD Plan - April 8 - May 10 at 4pm.  Applications will be available on April 8.    
105c Plan - April 8 - May 7 at 4pm.  Applications will be available on April 8.

Lowell Area Schools participates in two schools of choice programs that are based on the school district in which a family currently lives.

To determine which application is correct for your family, see the guidelines below.  Completing the wrong form could jeopardize enrollment.  If we receive more applications than openings, a lottery drawing will be held.  

Application submission information (via email or mail) is located on the application.  If you are unable to print the form, please email External LinkSonja DeDonado.

  • Student lives in a district that is part of the PDF DocumentKent Intermediate School District 
  • Annual reapplication and signature from releasing Superintendent is not required
  • Transportation is not provided
  • A student who has been suspended, expelled or convicted of a felony may be excluded
  • Students that live in the same household as a current Schools of Choice student may receive preference in filling district openings if they apply during the open enrollment period and slots are available in that particular grade level. 
  • The Michigan High School Athletic Association requires a student (in grades 10-12) to wait one semester after enrolling in a new district before participating in athletics.
